Welcome to the Professional Women’s Alliance, a member network of NAFE. PWA is dedicated to being the VOICES—Vibrant, Outstanding, Influential, Confident, Effective & Strong Leaders in Business and the Community.

 

We are looking forward to a great 2008!  Marcia Niekamp, our Program Chairperson/Chairman of the Board, has some fantastic speakers scheduled for our Monthly Meetings held on the first Wednesday of each month. The Annual Auction to benefit Lydia’s House will be held on May 7, 2008. Once again we will have a golf tournament in September with some surprises from Leslie Kever, our Director of Fundraising. We are proud to announce that last year these two events allowed us to donate over $15,000 to Lydia’s House. This year we will set a goal to exceed this amount.

 

October 1st will be our annual Vendor Night where members are given an option

to purchase a booth/table to display their business literature and sell their products. This also gives us an opportunity to “get to know” our members and understand their businesses!

 

Plans are being finalized to hold a “Speakers Series.”  Members will have an opportunity to attend these Leadership Classes at reduced rates. Our first seminar will be held in March with a class in June and September to follow. Watch the Web Site for details.

 

Our Marketing Committee (Helen Heilich-the chairperson) is busy making plans to “promote” the Professional Women’s Alliance in the News Media as well as in print. This year the committee picked out a gift, a Portfolio and pen, which will be presented to each member for their support of PWA.

 

Jean Evans, our Member Liaison Chairperson has extensive plans to bring new members to our group! New member breakfasts and other activities will be announced shortly.

 

One of the strong points of our organization is the Mentoring Program led by Kathleen Petersen. If a member would like to mentor someone or connect with a mentor, contact Kathleen for more information.

 

Our Social/Networking Chair, Alicia Brands would like to talk with members who are interested in showcasing their business at a Business After Hours. Just contact Alicia to learn more.

 

I would like to thank Kelly Jones, our Vice President for all her support as well as our Secretary, Cathy Perry and our Treasurer, Ranie Atwood. Also, thanks to

Dot Schmidt, who helps our organization in so many areas; registration, communication and keeping records to just name some of her tasks.
